are Time and Space the figments of our imagination?

  • I guess it is a matter of how you think and what you believe in to attempt at answering the question. To me time and space might or might not be the creation of our imagination; however, they definitely are influenced by our perception and perspective of matters. Doesn't time seem to pass so quickly when we are happy, and drip so slow when we are the opposite. Isn't our feeling toward a place governed by our subjectivity to a large extent? It seems to be relative in most cases.
Another notion I can't help but think up is that reality seems mostly what we perceive. And how do we know that that is the truth? How do we know, when doubt invades our minds, that our lives are not a mere bubble!
Waiting to hear more response I will revisit later!

  • hello khalida, i feel there are two aspects to reality. the Perceived and the Absolute which holds all perception. form and the formless. time and space in the world of form is as u say subjective and relative. In the realm of the formless, they (or it) also manifest(s) as the ever present Here-Now.

and as for knowing the truth , i doubt it if truth can ever be known when in doubt :) maybe its the cessation of all doubt..

The question was asked not to attempt an answer. but to silence the mind with its subtlety.
